| Q: How about daily maintenance? Does it take a lot of work to maintain a fountain? | ||
| A: Pumps are
designed to run 24 hours, 7 days a week. If you choose to shut them off,
we strongly recommend a timer to insure daily operation to reduce algae
and/or mosquito growth, and enhance enjoyment of the fountain. If
pool size matches fountain size, little maintenance is required.
Algae growth can be most easily controlled with a small amount of
bleach. This will not hurt the wildlife. Periodically remove
debris and clean the pump filter. Keep water level over the pump.
In colder climates with long periods of hard freeze temperatures, remove
pump and plug intake and plume holes. Detailed care instructions
will accompany your fountain when delivered.
