| Q: What is the best pool size for one of your fountains? | ||
| A: Our goal
is to provide the pool that matches the need of the fountain
selected–only enough water necessary for the fountain to operate
properly. The fountains displayed here all require a 4' diameter x 8"
deep black fiberglass pool, or a 5' diameter x 8" black fiberglass pool. We strongly recommend fiberglass fountain pools that are designed specifically for our fountains. They are for decorative use only–no fish or plants, and are simple to install and maintain. Retail pools available are generally designed for water gardening: they are plastic, unnecessarily deep, with rounded bottoms and rounded lips. They are not intended for use only with a water feature. Pool size is best determined by the "rule of splash": the distance the water falls freely, splash extends the same distance out from the point it hits the water. If you must have splash beyond the pool edge because of pool size restrictions, make sure the area surrounding the pool can survive constant moisture. Adding a timer may help.
